How to Setup Budgetary Control in Oracle Fusion

Roles Required

Before starting the Setup Budgetary Control process, make sure the user has the required roles:

Budget Manager
Steps to Add Role:

  1. Go to Tools → Security Console
  2. Open Users
  3. Search for the user
  4. Click Edit
  5. Go to Roles → Add Role
  6. Add the required roles
  7. Save changes

How to Enable Budget in Oracle Cloud-Setup Budgetary Control

  1. Settings and Actions → Setup and Maintenance
  2. Search for: Budgetary Control and Encumbrance Accounting
  3. Open the task : Manage budgetary control
  4. Edit
  5. Enable Budgetary Control at the Ledger Level
  6. Enable Encumbrance Accounting at the Ledger Level
  7. Enable Budgetary Control at the Business Unit Level
  8. Enable Encumbrance Accounting at the Business Unit Level
  9. Save and Close

What are the types of Control Levels in Oracle Budgetary Control?

  1. Absolute : The system completely prevents the transaction if it exceeds the available budget
  2. Advisory : The system only gives a warning when the budget is exceeded the available budget
  3. Track : The system records and tracks budget consumption but does not warn or stop the transaction.
  4. None : No budget checking is performed.The system does not track, warn, or stop any transactions.

Manage Control Budget Data Access for Users

  1. Settings and Actions → Setup and Maintenance
  2. Search for : Budgetary Control and Encumbrance Accounting
  3. Open the task : Manage Control Budget Data Access for Users
  4. Create

Steps to Open Budget Period

  1. Go to Home.
  2. Select Budgetary Control.
  3. From the Tasks Panel, choose Budget Period Status.
  4. Select the Period you want to open and click Open.

Upload Budget Balances


Steps to Enter Budget in Spreadsheet

  1. Go to Home.
  2. Select Budgetary Control.
  3. From the Tasks Panel, choose Enter Budget in Spreadsheet.
  4. Download the template, fill your budget data, then upload it back to the system.
