Project Organzation setup in Oracle Fusion PPM

In this topic we will discuss the Project Organization setup

Division

A division is a business-oriented subdivision within an oracle fusion enterprise structure .Each division can be enabled to to deliver different product and services or address different markets with same productions and services . We can create division that can operate in one or more countries

Create and manage the organizations that represent lines of business in the enterprise.

A division also cane be referred as a profit center or grouping of profit and cost centers, A division can be responsible for a share of the company’s existing product lines or for a separate business.

In Oracle fusion PPM we can create division and include this in Project Organization Hierachy.We can create division as a separate segment in chart of accounts structue to represent product lines, brands, or geographies .

Project Unit Organization

Project units are operational units or sub units of an enterprise that conducts business operations using projects. Project units can be used to enforces consistent project planning, management, analysis, and reporting.

Project units are created to represent different lines of business in an organization such as Consulting Services, Sales, and training etc.

It is mandatory in Oracle fusion PPM tp create at least one project unit

Manage Project Unit Option

Assign a refernece data set for the project Unit

Assing the Business Units which are part of the Project to the Project Unit

Select the commitment types that you want to include in the project performance data summarization
